Getting Started
First Time Setup
- Launch the GoldX Pro app on your iPhone or iPad
- The app will automatically fetch the latest gold prices from the market
- Go to Settings to configure your discount percentages for different karats
- Set up transaction type presets (Regular, Wholesale, Trade-In)
- Enable iCloud Sync to backup your data automatically
Basic Usage
GoldX Pro is designed to be simple and intuitive:
- Select Karat - Choose from 10K, 14K, 18K, 22K, or 24K gold
- Enter Weight - Input the weight in grams, ounces, or pennyweight
- Choose Transaction Type - Select Regular, Wholesale, or Trade-In
- View Price - The app automatically calculates the price based on current market rates
- Record Transaction - Save the transaction with customer information
Customer Management
Before recording transactions, you need to add customers:
- On iPad: Customer list appears in the left sidebar
- On iPhone: Tap "Customer List" button to view and manage customers
- Add customers by tapping the "+" button or from the transaction form
- Each customer can have multiple items in their transaction

Karat Calculations
Calculate prices for different gold purities:
- 10K (41.67% pure gold)
- 14K (58.33% pure gold)

- 24K (100% pure gold)
The app automatically applies the correct purity percentage to calculate the gold content value.
Weight Units
Work with multiple weight units:
- Grams (g) - Most common for jewelry
- Ounces (oz) - Standard gold trading unit
- Pennyweight (dwt) - Traditional jewelry unit
The app automatically converts between units for accurate calculations.
Transaction Types
Configure different pricing for different transaction types:
- Regular - Standard retail pricing with your configured discounts
- Wholesale - Wholesale pricing with different discount rates
- Trade-In - Trade-in pricing with separate discount settings

Note: Make sure you are signed in to iCloud on your device for sync to work. Initial sync may take a few minutes depending on data size.

Troubleshooting
Gold Prices Not Updating
- Check your internet connection
- The app fetches prices when opened - try closing and reopening the app
- Prices update automatically, but may take a moment
- If offline, the app uses the last known price
iCloud Sync Not Working
- Ensure you are signed in to iCloud on your device
- Check iCloud settings: Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud
- Make sure you have sufficient iCloud storage
- Wait a few minutes for initial sync to complete
- Check your internet connection
- Try force closing and reopening the app
App Crashes or Freezes
- Close the app completely and reopen it

Can't Record Transaction
- Make sure you have at least one customer in your customer list
- Add a customer first before recording transactions

- Ensure you have entered a weight value
Calculations Seem Incorrect
- Verify the gold price is current and correct
- Check your discount settings in Settings
- Make sure you selected the correct karat
- Verify the weight unit matches your input
- Check that the transaction type (Regular/Wholesale/Trade-In) is correct
Photos Not Saving
- Check camera permissions: Settings > GoldX Pro > Camera
- Ensure you have enough storage space on your device
- Try taking the photo again
- Photos are saved when you complete the transaction
Printing Issues
- Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network
- Check printer settings in device Settings > Printers
- Try using AirPrint-compatible printers
- You can also share receipts via email or other apps

Can I customize discount percentages?
Yes, you can set different discount percentages for each karat (10K, 14K, 18K, 22K, 24K) and for each transaction type (Regular, Wholesale, Trade-In) in the Settings menu.
Does the app work offline?
Yes, the app works offline. All data is stored locally on your device. Gold prices will use the last known price when offline. When you reconnect to the internet, changes will automatically sync to iCloud and prices will update.
How do I backup my data?
Your data is automatically backed up to iCloud via CloudKit. As long as you are signed in to iCloud, your data is continuously synced and backed up.
Can I export my transaction data?
All transaction data is stored in the app and synced via iCloud. You can view and print receipts for all transactions. For bulk export, contact support for assistance.
